Stop Press!

Trying to finish Cyprus trip. Four new videos uploaded into previous posts.

After trotting around Southeast Asia over the summer, I'm now back in the UK - Cambridge to be exact. Am trying my best to update as frequently as my clinical course will allow.

Entries on Italy and France two winters ago have been put on hold indefinitely. Read: possibly never. But we shall see.

Entries on Greece and Turkey last winter have also been put on hold for the time being.

Old Dragon's Head

After traversing 12800 li (4000 miles) - through deserts and grasslands, up hills and down valleys, along rivers and through forests - the formidable dragon reaches the easternmost edge of civilization. Here, it lays down its venerable old head at the Bohai Sea for a drink.

The horizon is surprisingly absent, grey sea and sky merge into a single endless and boundless entity. After travelling this far, it thought it would've at least have reached the end of the world. The sea is also surprisingly calm, no soothing sound of waves against shore can be heard. The seagulls do not sing.

Slowly and unconsciously, it lets its heavy eyelids fall, shutting its wise eyes for a well-deserved rest after completing his noble task of surrounding and protecting the emperor and the Middle Kingdom.
